- Thermostat: set to Heat, a few degrees above room temperature, with fresh batteries.
- Furnace switch: usually on the wall near the furnace and looks like a light switch. Make sure it's on.
- Breaker: check the furnace breaker. If it trips again, stop and call.
- Air filter: a clogged filter can shut a furnace down. Replace it.
- Panel door: the furnace won't run if the front panel isn't seated.
- Vents and returns: make sure furniture and rugs aren't blocking them.
